A holy grail for any war time or soviet collector, they know that the SVT-40 are incredibly hard to find. Designed by soviet weapon designers Sergei Simonov and Fedor Tokarev. The Russian military were looking to replace the bolt action Mosin-Nagant rifle for a more modern semi auto rifle that was comparable to the U.S. M1 Garand. First attempt was the SVT-38, however seeing limited production due to mechanical issues found while using the firearm in the Winter War with Finland. Redesigned, the SVT-40 went into full scale production, with roughly 1,600,000 being made by the end of the war.
This SVT-40 was manufactured in 1941, at the Kovrov Arsenal. Featuring a 24" barrel with a muzzle brake, hooded front sight and rear elevation sight, folding magazine release, manual safety, sling studs, and has a great looking hardwood full stock with a metal handguard shroud. Comes with one 10rd magazine, double spout oiler, and a double pouch ammo carrier.
