LOT 8875 - 1942 Springfield Armory M1 Garand 30-06 Sprg. Semi Auto Rifle
Description

Serial Number: 736021. Very good / Good condition for the age of the firearm. Bore is bright and shiny. This rifle is part of the Civilian Marksman Program, CMP tag attached to front sight. Firearm has some handling wear, common for military surplus firearms. Stock has a crack that travels along the back side of the grip and runs parallel above the trigger guard on the right side. Bolt reads as "6528287 HRA -U-",  barrel reads as "S-A-6-42".

The Civilian Marksman Program was founded in 1903, and is still around to this day. It's initial mission was to encourage civilians to practice their marksmanship, and get them ready for enlistment. The programs mission today is similar, with an emphasis on teaching younger generations firearm safety, marksmanship, and competition. 

This Springfield Armory M1 Garand was manufactured in June of 1942, based on it's serial number range and the "6-42" marked barrel. Featuring a 24" barrel, winged front sight and rear elevation peep sight, internal magazine well, manual safety, sling studs, and has a walnut full stock. Comes with canvas sling.
