Serial Number: 178208. Very good condition. Bore is bright and shiny, and the bolt runs smooth. Stock has some light handling wear, including a small dent on the left side. 

This Winchester Pre-64 Model 70 was manufactured in 1951. Featuring a 24" barrel, drilled & tapped receiver with picatinny scope bases, hooded front sight and rear folding elevation sight, internal magazine well, manual safety, sling studs, and has a checkered walnut stock with a steel butt plate. 

Affectionately called "The Rifleman's Rifle" the Winchester Model 70 was introduced in 1936, drawing inspiration from the Mauser action with some slight modifications. The Pre-64 Model 70s are highly sought after for the "Controlled Round Feeding" system of the extractor/bolt design, once again a specialty of the Mauser action, and their superior craftsmanship.
